I had originally made this purchase to charge up my cellphone. It works great at that job, as it is super easy to charge by AC/USB or Solar. And it also charges my digital cameras, MP4 players and PDA without any problem.

I bought this because I wanted something small to keep in my briefcase for when I needed extra power for my BlackBerry Tour or iPod Touch, and also because of this product\'s claimed solar recharge ability. This product did power my iPod Touch. However after a few days in my briefcase this unit lost more power than I expected.

The portable solar charger works better than expected!!! It does not need direct sunlight. I placed it about 2-3 feet from a window and it works perfectly.
