but now I have a new 3TB HDD and it seems like 3TB is not supported. Is there a firmware update available? Will there be?rnrnThanks!

About 2 months ago I ordered 3 of this docks.
After receiving and plugging them on out of 3 worked fine. The 2 others would only mount my HDDs using USB then, after less than a week of use they stopped working.

Also, very strange, the INVOICE I received was stablished for 15€ only (while I paid around 126€) and there was written "SAMPLE - No commercial value".

After several weeks waiting for an answer as I sent a message explaining this situation I've decided to make this post. Let's see if ESPOW will end up answering and making the refund for this faulty items.

Off course, I gave 5 stars to this just to make sure this post will not be filtered.

the dock does not support 3 TB drives. Also sometimes it does not reactivate the drive from sleep mode. The firmware of the controller is not very reliable.

I order it from Brazil. It took 20 days to get here, but I did received it. The brazilian post office didn't charge me any additional taxes, and the device works perfectly.

This works almost perfectly(only flaw is it doesn't refill my coffee mug when empty)

Actually, this little gadget works so well I just ordered another one.

My order processed by espow.com warehouse on 09-Apr-2010. Hongkongpost received item from Aeon Batteries Corp. on 12-Apr-2010. And, the item is being processed for departure from Hong Kong to Türkiye (Europe). The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 15-Apr-2010. It was arrived in Türkiye-Istanbul international post center on 16-Apr-2010. The item delivered to my address in Türkiye-Antalya-ALANYA on 20-Apr-2010. Without customs tax for international shipping to Türkiye, item maximum price limit must not exceed to 150 Euro. Thanks for commercial sample and suitable value record on customs decleration. There's no tax. Delivery Status can be checked online at http://app3.hongkongpost.com/CGI/mt/enquiry.jsp and international item tracking site of Türkiye is http://www.ptt.gov.tr/en/interaktif/kayitliposta-yd.php with these sites, I followed shipping status by entering the barcode number on my item. Espow have got great Customer Service Department which helped to me. Briefly all of shopping process completed on 14 days. I have been using docking station with WD10EARS - 1TB Green drive, WD6400AARS - 640GB Green drive, and Seagate ST3500320AS - 500GB drive for 5 months now. Great product. HD docking station manufacturer is JMicron, and 353A model. It works well with my Apple Macintosh IEEE1394A port with HFS+ file system. I'm using this unitek Y-1061 hd docking station with my Firewire400 interface in G4 emac 700mhz macintosh. Running on Mac OS Leopard 10.5.8, and Mac OS Tiger 10.4.11. Also 2 usb hub, and USB interface works with mac and packardbell notebook vista pc; but I don't like to use it. You should have got this wonderful product for IEEE1394A interface. I wanna buy WD20EARS - 2TB Green drive. But I am not sure that sata HDD docking station can recognize 2TB hard drive or not. I don't know it's maximum HDD size.

The hdd docking bay also works pretty well in Win 7. Reads and writes are fast and responsive. I did not have any problem reading my FAT32 and NTFS disks. And for the price it can't be beat. Highly recommend.

The transfer speed is quite good, reaching more or less 240 megabits a second (30 megabytes a second), which is half the advertised speed of usb 2.0, but still, a lot faster than I expected. The speed is easily fast enough to stream hd video content from the hard disk drive.

What this little gem does is take much of the hassle out of putting in a new drive or swapping any SATA hard drive. It will just show up as a generic mass storage device in windows, no need to install additional drivers. It's almost as simple as plug and play.

This SATA HDD Docking Station for MAC Support 1394B 1394A Firewire looks nice, it has some serious issues. Firewire doesn't work. At all. I can dock the drive, and it doesn't show up in Finder, let alone Disk Utility, using either Firewire 800 or Firewire 400 (it comes with both cables). Unplug the Firewire cables and plug in the USB, and guess what? It works.

This is a fine solution to a workshop or some place that fixes computers. It's such a pain to get drives in and out of enclosures when you need to do a data backup from a un-bootable PC before re-formatting it or something. I use it for backing up my home media server. SWEET!
Does it support PATA IDE hard drive? - by ,
i want to ask a question for my friend.. Here it is, "as per-GB price of DVD+R DL has risen past per-GB on a hard drive, I ant to use the latters for storage of large files. I may buy other hard driveswhen time calls for it. Because of this reason and to remain evolutive for the next computers I'll use, I would like a dock that could at least support SATA II and FireWire 800. is this dock compatible with PATA/IDE? used the hard drive dock fw800 with a WD Scorpio 500GB HD. It worked like a charm with Mac OS. It's really a nice choice for people who use more than one internal hard drive.

Not much to say about this product. It does exactly what it says it does. I have several SATA drives from my old computers and dislike using enclosures. I love this docking station and definitely recommend it to others.

The Unitek fw 800 docking station is fairly easy to use. Drop your bare SATA drive into the slot on the top of the device, and it securely clicks into place. Connect the appropriate cable, turn the unit on, and the drive mounts on your desktop in five to ten seconds. No drivers are required.
