The iPad Camera Connection Kit gives you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera: using your camera's usb cable to transfer your photos and videos to the iPad. Alternatively, you can use an SD card reader directly to import photos and video from the camera's SD card. How to use:

A. USB interface - plug the connection into the dock connector port of your iPad, and then attach your digital camera or iPhone(excluded iPhone 3G) using a USB cable. Or import photos to iPad through USB flash disk. Besides, the USB interface support external keyboard input.

B. SD card reader interface - plug the connection into the dock connector port on your iPad, and then insert your SD card

After you make the connection, your iPad automatically opens the photos APP and lets you choose which pictures to import, then organizes the selected photos into albums. When sync iPad to your PC or mac, the photos in your iPad are added to your computer photo gallery.

The picture files need to saved in named DCIM folder. The digital camera will create DCIM folder automatically. For USB flash disk, you need to create DCIM folder and copy manually.
